2級の英作文では、難しい単語や複雑な文法を書く必要はありません。

大切なのは、自分の意見をはっきり述べ、その理由を論理的に説明することです。

2級英作文の出題形式

理由を書く際の参考となる観点が英単語で３つ挙げられますが、使っても使わなくてもかまいません。

例：POINTS：Convenience, Labor, Safety

2級では、準2級プラスより語数が増えます。そのため、理由を述べるだけでなく、具体例や補足説明を加えて論理的に展開することが高得点へのポイントです。

準2級プラスとの違い

2級も意見と理由を述べる形式ですが、より説得力のある説明が求められます。

採点基準

英作文は次の4つの観点で評価されます。

内容

質問に正しく答え、理由が十分に説明されているかを評価します。

構成

文章の流れが自然で、論理的に書かれているかを評価します。

語彙

テーマに合った適切な語彙が使われているかを評価します。

文法

文法や語法を正しく使えているかを評価します。

高得点を取るには、4つの観点をバランスよく意識することが大切です。

2級で使えるテンプレート

「意見 → 理由①＋具体例 → 理由②＋具体例 → 結論」の4段落構成で書くのが鉄則です。

高得点のコツ

難しい単語を無理に使わない：自分が正しく使える単語や表現を選びましょう。
理由を2つ書く：最初にYesかNoを決め、それを支える理由を2つ考えます。
理由を詳しく説明する：具体例や理由の補足を加えると、説得力が増します。
接続詞を使う：First、Second、For example、For these reasonsなどを使い、文章の流れを分かりやすくしましょう。
最後に見直す：文法、スペル、語数、質問に答えているかを確認しましょう。

語数を増やそうとして同じ内容を繰り返すのではなく、新しい情報を加えることを意識しましょう。

2級英作文で対策しておきたいテーマ

英検®2級の英作文では、社会や環境、教育、テクノロジーなど、身近な生活から社会全体に関わる幅広いテーマについて、自分の意見と理由を述べる力が求められます。環境問題、科学技術、教育制度、働き方、地域社会、国際交流など、さまざまな話題について考え、自分の意見を英語で説明する練習をしておきましょう。

大切なのは、特定のテーマの模範解答を暗記することではありません。さまざまな質問に対して、自分の意見を明確にし、理由や具体例を挙げながら、論理的に説明できるようにすることです。社会的な話題についても、日頃からニュースや身の回りの出来事に関心を持ち、自分なりの考えを簡単な英語で表現する力を身につけましょう。

【Yes】

I think students should use AI for studying. I have two reasons. First, AI helps students understand difficult subjects more easily. For example, it can explain math or science in simple words. This helps students learn more efficiently. Second, AI skills will be useful in the future. Many companies already use AI, so students should become familiar with it early. For these reasons, I think students should use AI for studying.（89語）

I do not think students should use AI for studying. I have two reasons. First, students may rely on AI too much. For example, they might stop thinking for themselves when doing homework. Second, AI sometimes provides incorrect information. If students believe everything it says, they may learn something wrong. For these reasons, I do not think students should use AI for studying too often.（82語）

理由を書くだけでなく、「なぜそう言えるのか」まで説明すると説得力が高まります。

書き終えたら、語数だけでなく、文法やスペルも確認しましょう。

I do not think more people should use public transportation. I have two reasons. First, it is not convenient in some areas. For example, buses and trains do not run very often in the countryside.
